Chevrolet mileage estimates "based on EPA estimates and segmentation". What smoke is GM blowing here - epa mpg estimates

I've heard that have advertising for GM Chevy good fuel economy, but do not know what the fine print. Chevy get more than 30 miles per gallon ... If you simply ignore the segment of the test carried out on the street?

The fuel is econamy tests conducted by the federal government govenment Chevrolet Envyromental protection Agencyn has nothing to do with the actual test. The EPO test used is obsolete and will be reviewed shortly. Now we introduce the vehicle at 55 km / h test on the road and take a special course vehicles are driven into simulated ride through the city. probably in the next year or two should be revised to simulate the test, such as how people really drive. If you think it is bad now you should have seen the first test manufacturers send prototypes EPA inflated without rear seats smaller water pumps and generators highest rate of Axel and tires to the EPA Estamates push.
